A Pawn's Gambit

(Hiatus) Being of commoner birth, Daren had always wanted to pilot a mobile cog. After going through his eighteenth harvest last year, he finally gained enough courage and strength to try for enlistment with the local garrison. Luckily, garrison day is today and his adventure is truly going to start today. Little did he understand what he was volunteering for. For in a time of strife and rebellion, not a single soul is safe.  But he will serve his empire, for even one single pawn can turn the tides of a battle if used correctly.   ---------------- - Weak to competent and reliable inside of his group - Brutal combat - Wide, sweeping world  - Relationships of many different types - Mischievous main character who does a little trolling - No harem - Follows the main story of Mobile cog with a more 'boots on the ground' approach that faces the problems cursing this world from the eyes of a 'normal dude' - More grim situations, but plenty of light banter and comedy that brings characters together, even in the worst of situations ----------------- 3.7k to 5k words per chapter  Tuesday ----------------------
