The Great Contest

The Great Contest

by Jman8763 C. Ashen

ActionAdventureDystopiaGameLitHorror

A thirteen-year-old boy sells his soul for wealth and power, or so he believes. He wakes up in Hell with nothing: no power, no memories, 35 cents worth of wealth, and psychotic older kids keep killing him. Some people, himself in particular, feel this is unjust, and he doesn't belong here. But Hell has never been fair, or kind to the less fortunate. But Hell's denizens insist that neither he nor they are in Hell, but part of a great contest where humans and aliens fight to the death for honor, glory, and valuable prizes. This boy can't fight his way out of a wet paper bag, but the life of a loved one on earth depends on his escaping from Hell, and he'll do whatever it takes to make this happen—even use the time loop he's trapped in to get much, much stronger. This story contains violence and profanity. Note: I'm writing and posting this quickly for the Writathon. There will be many errors.
