by Grunge
Grunge doesn’t remember what he was. Only what he’s becoming. The world outside is dead or at least, that’s what they want him to believe. Ruined cities stretch endlessly, filled with things that were never meant to exist. Creatures. Mistakes. Like him. But Grunge isn’t just surviving. He’s changing. Every time he feeds, something new takes hold sharper instincts, unnatural abilities… and a hunger that’s getting harder to control. And then there’s the girl. She follows him. In reflections. In shadows. In his head. Watching. Speaking. Changing. She says he chose this. She says he’ll choose it again. But when Grunge discovers that the world beyond the ruins is still alive clean, controlled, untouched everything shifts. Because the truth is worse than the monsters. He isn’t a survivor. He’s something they threw away. And now? He’s coming back.
