Sentience sucks, especially when you're a potato. The Potato once lived a happy, peaceful life. It had water, sun, soil, and absolutely no moral responsibilities whatsoever. Then one day it leveled up Intelligence, became sentient, and discovered it was the long-lost reincarnation of the Hero Undying. Now the Potato must learn to wield a forgotten magic known as the System, survive a strange fantasy world (where potatoes are very edible), and escape the mysterious Saint in Black who hunts it. But, as the Potato grows in power, a deeper mystery unfolds. Why does the Potato level up when nobody else does? What exactly is the System? If the Potato really is this legendary hero, why is its strongest instinct to avoid work, party irresponsibly, and make terrible decisions? You see, being a hero is hard, and potatoes don't do hard. They do lazy and efficient. Even if the lazy and efficient path is sometimes the evil one. What to Expect: - Potato MC, potato POV. - Potato-powered → overpowered. - Absurd premises played straight. - Character growth (stupid potato → "intelligent" potato). - No romance (potatoes don't do romance). - Yes bromance (buddy cop dynamic with talking goat priest). - Unfolding overarching mystery with increasing scope and stakes. Update Schedule: Thursday and Friday mornings. Chapters are usually between 2000 and 3000 words, with a longer first chapter. World Map: https://www.deviantart.com/taoistfruitbat/art/889889224 Warning: this story contains substance abuse, gore, body horror, bad philosophy, and general unhinged shenanigans. The protagonist also has a strong personality, so if you're looking for blank slate self-inserts, this ain't it.
