Romance is dead, long live The Intern! Upon his untimely death, a man accepts a job offer from the Library of Worlds. His new position is as an intern in the Revisions department, a critical section dedicated to fixing key characters and plotlines in underperforming worlds. The rules are simple, get in, hit the plot points, tweak till reader satisfaction improves, and get paid. Unfortunately, he's been assigned to the Romance genre, a hopeless pile of irrational, illogical, and downright soul-crushing bundles of tropes that often make no sense! As if that weren't bad enough, there are a few other small problems to contend with. The poor guy has to navigate the broken tagging system for jobs, his lack of safety equipment, his endearing but mostly useless coworkers, and readers that often prefer his suffering to success... the odds really aren't in his favor! If our Intern wants to survive long enough to escape the genre, he's going to need to take some real creative liberties.[Writeathon Participant: April 2026]What to Expect:♦ Each new volume tackles a different romance subgenre.♦ Each story he enters is a self-contained arc.♦ Multiple arcs per volume.♦ Different tones depending on the arc. What NOT to Expect:♦ Actual Romance. Man's just here to do a job.♦ Explicit content. He's got multiple content filters.♦ Robust storylines. You're seeing these novels at their worst.♦ In depth logic and research. If these stories were well-written he wouldn't be here!
