The previous Mayor of Ambervale left behind a large desk, an unidentified portrait, and a financial situation that required — technically speaking — a supernatural solution. Milo Brackett, Third-Class City Clerk, newly and involuntarily promoted, would have preferred a functioning filing system. He gets a demon instead. A fantasy comedy about bureaucracy, infernal accounting, and the specific horror of inheriting someone else's ledger."A quick note on length: This story consists of 33 long-form chapters (approx. 2 - 3,000 words each). I preferred keeping the narrative flow intact rather than splitting them up. Enjoy the deep dive!" Author’s Note: STORY STATUS: COMPLETED. > The full manuscript is finished (all 33 Chapters). I will be posting updates every other day until the grand finale is reached. No hiatus, no dropped story—just a complete journey from start to finish.
