Jason has spent years trapped under the control of Cosmo, a floating alien machine obsessed with preparing humanity for “ascension.” When Earth finally starts its journey, Cosmo forces his way into Jason’s body, only for a second AI, PIP, to hijack the process. Now Earth is blooming into its true form. Plants tower overhead, animals are becoming monsters, the backyard is a hunting ground, and Jason has one job: survive long enough to grow strong enough for the Ascendancy Trials. Stuck with one senile zealot, one corporate survival protocol, and a rapidly supersizing cat, Jason is dragged into a brutal progression story full of scavenging, dangerous wildlife, invasive passengers, and more gore than he would like.
