Gold. Freedom. A simple job. After a tavern brawl lands them in chains, a half-elf warrior and a wandering mercenary are given a choice: rot in a cell...or take on a dangerous task. A councilman's daughter has been kidnapped and the job seems simple. Track her down, bring her home, and collect their reward. But nothing about where they're going is simple. In a rotting marshland something has already found the kidnappers. Something that doesn't leave survivors. And when the girl is finally found...she is not what she seems. As blood is spilled and secrets begin to surface, what began as a rescue turns into something far more dangerous. Something is wrong and it might already be too late.
