Decades before the boy's birth, a man came to his tribe. He called himself the Reverend and said he served God. He once cured a blind man and after that, nobody questioned him again. Years and years passed and the boy's village was overtaken by a sickness. A divine fever. An obsession with God. One day, his tribesmen did something that couldn't be undone. The boy ran. He found himself on a caravan heading to a place he didn't know of. He was trapped inside The Depths, a place abandoned by the Gods, and there, he discovered one thing. The world has a center. Reach the bottom and your wishes will be granted, they say. And so the boy set on. But why him? Why does he see Gods in the distance and why does he feel like he's being watched? ------------------ TW: Blood, Violence, Religious Content, Suicide, etc. This story is heavily inspired by Fear and Hunger, Made in Abyss, Tower of God and pretty much every other work you can think of. Yes, including My Little Pony. Just one thing I want to say before you start reading. PLEASE READ THE PROSE ALOUD. The story is meant for the ears more than the eyes. Trust me. I worked on the rhythm just for you. So please. Also, this is a slowburn. It'll take a good while before The Depths are introduced, so keep that in mind before you start.
