The Wanderer was created as a last resort for a multiversal prison, to hunt escaped anomalies that were trapped in a pre-existence machine deity. He did his job too well for the dying machine to let him go, forcing him into a life of hunting anomalies across different worlds. He crashed into the first world. Just another human, the only difference was the Spiral within, pushing him to grow enough to eliminate the anomaly of this world. His path led him between fighting factions, becoming a catalyst for civil war, only to return back carrying the dream of an empire that isn't his.
