General Andrew Carter was the kind of man who never lost control. Then his memory was stripped away. Now he wakes up in chains, trapped in a body twisted by dragon magic, with only a furious entity named Fear in his head and no idea who he used to be. While the royal court of Halloween fights to reclaim the Capitol, Carter is forced to rebuild himself from the ground up. But recovering his past is only part of the problem. Carter must learn what it means to be a Warden of Fear, form hoard bonds he never would have accepted before, and survive the chaos of dragons, magic, war, and found family. All while helping crown the King of Halloween and take a broken city back from the forces that stole it. He cannot become the man he was. So he will have to become someone new.
