Lingering Echoes

Earth was peaceful, till it was not. Gateways to the unknown, known as Fissures began appearing on Earth.  This Cataclysm, though shifting the world order, gave humanity an opportunity to be something more. It gave them, the ability to manipulate Shards.  Ian was an orphan who had no part in any of this, neither did he want to. But, one thing led to another and he found himself thrust into this world against his will.  Will he roll over and give up?  "Nah, once the end is certain, all that's left is to make the journey as memorable as possible, even if only for an instant", replied Ian.  ===== Thank you for giving my story your valuable time.
