Why did I ever take that contract? What was I thinking? Then again... how could I possibly say no?The pay was excellent for what sounded like a simple job. But it wasn't really about the gold. It was about those striking green eyes. The moment I saw them, refusal became impossible. That's where the trouble began. How was I supposed to know that a straightforward missing-person case - well, not exactly a person - would spiral into chaos? Chases, battles, long-buried secrets from my own past, dragons, knights, princesses, sorcerers... and, as the cherry on top, a legendary sword that everyone seems willing to kill for.Why does all of this have to happen to a former orphanage girl who's now just a simple mercenary?Still... for those green eyes, I'm ready to charge into any heroic deed - or any spectacular act of stupidity.Evil will be punished. As for good... I'll lock it away behind the strongest bolts and never let anyone take it from me.
