In a world where the divine have fallen and magic steadily wanes away, the concept and horror of existence plagues many who reside within it. Why do we exist? Why do we continue? What makes it worth it? Winter's Bloom follows multiple characters at the beginning of their journey through a life of seeking purpose, belonging, and true fulfillment where the complexities and morality of magic muddy the waters. An all consuming, earnest first love with someone with the power to remove your free will with just a touch or spoken word, an ancient being wanting family more than anything else that will love even those considered most monstrous when their humanity leaves them, and a deep childhood friendship swayed by adolescent uncertainty, the presentation of gender, and the dynamics and complications of polyamory. Nothing in life will stay the same and time flows ever forward, showing us both the incredible highs and despairing lows that are all just an inevitable part of existence.
