Accused of murdering his pregnant wife, Shinji is put on trial by a divine court, presided over by a god of laws. Refusing to accept a judgment that is unfair, Shinji challenges the court and states that he has evidence of his innocence, which will be revealed by calling a god to testify on his behalf. Shinji is given time to find evidence of ancient rituals, and after crossing a ruined world, he finds an abandoned church in a forgotten town. There, he is able to summon a god that has not been seen for centuries. Instead of saving Shinji, however, he is met by a powerful and mysterious deity that demands worship.
