Scars into Star 2. Volume 2: Destined to Become a Star

The background of the story is set in the winter of 2244, on an Earth slowly dying from environmental pollution and acid rain. With government functions paralyzed and public anger reaching a critical point, a transnational shadow corporation known as 'Hyperion Industries' abandons all efforts to heal the planet. Instead, for the past 130 years, they have been secretly building a massive underground fortress city called 'Jeonjurium' beneath the red deserts of Mars, entirely hidden from the rest of humanity.  Their plan is 'Project Arc'—a scheme to leave ordinary people behind on the dying Earth while selecting only a small number of elites with perfect genetics and exceptional intelligence to escape to Mars. If the 7 billion masses were to discover this colossal betrayal, it would hasten a destruction far beyond mere riots; thus, this great escape is orchestrated in absolute deception and secrecy.  The story begins from the perspective of Dr. Aris Thorne as a human, long before she becomes a transcendent entity drifting through space with constellation-like scars across her entire body.  Recognized for her genius intellect—capable of converting Mars's thin, highly toxic atmosphere into breathable oxygen—Aris, an Atmospheric Architect, is chosen as an 'Eve' for the new humanity and earns a boarding pass for the spaceship Argos. However, this selection was not a blessing, but a horrific curse. In order to survive, she had to leave her aging, sick parents behind in a dilapidated apartment in Manchester, UK.  The breathtaking confrontations between the hidden conspiracies of 'Hyperion' and the solitary beings striving to stop them unfold dynamically alongside the appearance of 'Ray' and 'Lucia,' the heroes of the first Volume.
