Fire and Light

The Arcane creates beauty. The Empire enchains it. Rare, it is coveted. And it is within this Empire that a lone mage walks. A young man of no renown nor remarkable ability in every aspect but one… Lost but not wandering, he has a purpose to fulfill. His journey is bitter, but he finds another mage, a small girl who has no such thing. It is not fate, nor the machinations of any higher beings. They simply meet, and that simple meeting sparks a quiet, but wholly remarkable adventure which sets them on a path of growth and inner healing. He is awkward but moves forward at any cost. She is reserved but bright, a beacon. Together, they become inseparable, just as a burning fire cannot exist without the light it creates. However, such a path is not easy, nor comfortable. Their gift of the Arcane becomes as much of a curse as a blessing, as they must travel through the ruthlessly pragmatic Empire, which aims to bind them, and all mages under its grasp. The adventure is as grim as it is bright, and they must focus on the light while accepting the darkness. Together, they take a step forward. The two must find their true purpose together, and uncover that which remains within them. Above all that, however, their goal is to reach true freedom. The way to do this… A mythical elf, unknown to all but a scant few. Metis the Wise. Fire & Light is a fantasy adventure novel, one which will lull you into a sense of peace, before it strikes.
