Vesperum Maris: Steel Awakening

In an age of uneasy peace, the world’s oceans are no longer silent. Long-dormant warships are being pulled from the past, refitted with cutting-edge technology, and returned to service as tensions rise between rival powers. Among them is Grendal—an aging but formidable vessel whose steel hull carries the legacy of a bygone era. For Evan, a newly appointed and untested officer, command of Grendal is both an honor and a trial by fire. Thrust into high-stakes naval war games against Avalon, he must prove himself against seasoned commanders—including the sharp and relentless Sarah, whose rivalry quickly becomes personal. What begins as training soon reveals something far more unsettling. Beneath the simulations and exercises, a new kind of warfare is emerging—one that will redefine naval power. At its center lies a secret project known only as Aurora, a glimpse of a future that could either secure peace… or ignite total war. As alliances strain and the line between preparation and conflict begins to blur, Evan must find his footing—not just as a captain, but as a leader capable of commanding steel, crew, and destiny. Because the awakening has begun. And the sea remembers how to wage war.
