"Nothing is real anyway, so we might as well make better illusions." - Official Amidoan PolicyThe year is 2213. A couple of singularities came and went, and the world kept going. In Amido, where technology is synonymous with magic, where witches, prophecies, and mysterious messages from the sky are a part of everyday life, a shocking scandal has come to light: Princess Amie has spent the nation’s taxes on her hair. By the time Amie realises that her input and subsequent worldview have been corrupted, her ministers already stand against her. There’s only one way to fix her reputation: find out who’s really in charge. Joined by a freelancing witch and a hapless “chosen one” from a rebel village, Amie sets out on a quest to uncover the truth. But the deeper they dig, the clearer it becomes—they’re part of a much larger struggle, one that will decide the fate of the planet…and maybe even reality itself. *** You can follow @the_universal_translator on Instagram for free stories, fun facts, and artworks.
