Growing up unremarkable, Silver never considered himself exceptional — just precise. The kind of person who noticed the flaw in an argument before the speaker finished making it, and said nothing. He did not expect to be transported to Varesh. Pulled from his world alongside four hundred students and dropped into a collapsing realm being devoured by wounds in reality, Silver finds himself among the Amended — those reshaped by a world that read them as broken and overcorrected. The Drawstone calls his trait Eyes of the Savant. He can read the structure of anything: systems, people, power. The bones of the world, permanently legible. It would be useful. If the world weren't already reading him back. Hunted as Unregistered, surrounded by factions that want what his companions have become, Silver has one tool and no margin for error. What he cannot see is what named him Serpent before he ever arrived. And whatever it is has been waiting considerably longer than he has.
