Tales from enchanted shores

Echoes of the past, echoes of the future and echoes of places that may or may not exist; What are they if not tales from some other shore enchanted by something that we cannot have or cannot be in our present? But a tale is not an objective thing is it not? It is molded just as much by the original source as the re-teller and the listener, not all influences are obvious to find and rule out to arrive at what might be perceived as an "objective" truth. So keep in mind dear reader and listener, not all in a tale has to be true.  This fiction is a series of short mostly self-contained stories where each chapter will stand and fall on its own merits, be warned that most chapters will be very short so look at the first chapter to see if this is something you might want to read. The setting itself is a combination of science fiction and fantasy where magic and technology oftentimes intertwine and enhance each other but not always, certain regions may be more inclined towards one or the other for their own reasons. As for the sensitive content warning tag, it is mostly there as a precaution since there are a lot of topics that might be considered sensitive and I will not shy away from writing about them should they become necessary for any one of the short stories, any chapter containing a topic that I know is sensitive will obviously begin with a disclaimer of the topics existence. After all, even in another place, world and time people will be people and stripping them of their own free will to prevent them from causing harm to others through willing or ignorant actions would be no less than having them surrender their own freedoms or altering their tales for our re-telling and comfort. Speaking of the tags, the Mecha tag is there for a reason and will be featured in some of the short stories. Due to magic the setting also leans more towards soft on the sci-fi spectrum but aspects of hard sci-fi also exist such as heat management and fuel consumption being some of the main concerns of spaceflight. Though many of these might only manifest and play a part in future stories so heed these as the ramblings of a person getting ahead of themselves. Release schedule is whenever I feel like writing or releasing something I have written, inspiration strikes like lightning and procrastination is the enemy. The setting is a hobby and passion project of mine and posting here is mostly to share parts and snippets of it with others as others have shared their own stories and works. After all, I have been inspired to create something of my own because of stories others have shared and published so putting something out there of my own creation feels good.
