Engine of Anathema

In the outer slums beneath the great city walls, survival is the only law. Silvia has never known anything beyond hunger, rot, and the distant glow of a world she can’t reach. Behind the towering walls lies a different reality - one of light, power, and opportunity. But for those born below, it might as well not exist. Together with her older sister Belle, she clings to what little they have: a fragile shelter, a few scraps of food, and each other. In a place where people disappear without a trace and kindness is a liability, even small mercies come at a cost. But something is changing. The streets are growing restless. Strange movements ripple through the slums, and even those who should not fear begin to hesitate. Whispers spread of forces unseen, of something watching from beyond the walls - or perhaps from above. When survival is no longer the only thing at stake, Silvia will be forced to confront a truth far greater than the world she knows. And some walls are not meant to keep people out.
