For seventeen years, Lorthorin, the God King of the serpentborn Imperium, was raised in isolation by his mother, the world's most powerful pyromancer. He trained his entire childhood to become her equal while the rest of the world was fighting a seven-century-long war on the moon.  She always told him it had nothing to do with their bloodline. She lied. On the day of his final trial, she cursed him to fight the only two people he ever knew, his cousin and herself, in a death battle to assimilate their Imperial souls and powers.  At the end of it, only he remained with a terrible Imperial prophecy hidden from him for a lifetime: The lunar war awakens the hunger of a fell God who eats the world, and only the last sovereign can prevent it.  Now burdened with the fates of billions, Lorthorin, the strongest pyromancer alive, must change the course of history in the one place he was born to dominate: The war on the moon.
