Teodor has always wanted more than a quiet life.  After a chance encounter with a desperate witch, he is seemingly gifted a magical boon: what’s yours is mine. When the magic triggers for the first time, a man dies and Teodor’s life changes forever.  Now imprisoned beneath the Mantle’s authority, Teodor is surrounded by guards, bullies and future mages who see him as weak and expendable. Teodor must learn to navigate a world where magic is based on relationships, agreement, and obligation. Along the way, he will steal advantages and exploit hierarchies wherever he can.  Teodor wants to be a hero.
