A mysterious prison transport disguised as a galactic tradeship is ambushed by the ruthless Black Quasar raiders, who expect to steal valuable ore. Instead, they uncover something far more dangerous, a captive Cydorian named Hal. Freed when the raid disables his restraints, Hal is forced into an uneasy alliance with the space pirates’ charismatic and secretive leader, Zeke. As they travel across the explored galaxy, the truth of both Hal and Zeke's backstories become clear. Powerful forces are already moving beneath masks.
