Jude Dove has a gift for making people laugh and a talent for making sure no one looks too closely. Chloé Ashford has twelve stairs between her bedroom and the rest of the world. She counts every single one. They meet at the start of a school year neither of them asked for. Jude notices the girl at the back who never says hello. Chloé draws the eyes of the girl at the front who smiles too perfectly. Neither of them is supposed to fall in love. Neither of them can stop. The Gaze of Jude is a dual-POV sapphic coming-of-age story about two girls who learn to see each other before one of them runs out of time.
