According to many, the age of Artificial Intelligence was nearing its end. Countless fruits and flowers had bloomed and been plucked, yet one reward lay unclaimed at the peak. Perfect Immersion: to simulate a world the body and mind accept to be real. Ruoxing, a sophomore majoring in computer science, was shunned from his wealthy family a year ago and has decided he will make a name for himself. Now, he finds himself invited to ArchSpire, a VRMMORPG claiming to have created perfect immersion, but on launch day he realizes that, the way things are going, his life won't be much different here...   Twenty-five unique floors await to be beaten while Ruoxing desperately holds on to keep up... As if a world with dangerous threats and challenges wasn't enough, Ruoxing gained the attention of a rather dangerous player who had already set his eyes on dominating their own world, before deciding to dominate this one as well... Godlike Admins, ruthless floor bosses, traitors, manipulators, psychopathic sadists - Ruoxing has no choice but to outsmart each and every one on his way to the top!Even if NPCs and Players alike keep mentioning the weakness of his... Soul... - - - - -  ArchSpire is my first genuine attempt at posting a webserial on Royal Road and will function as a story meant to highlight the many differences we have as people regarding the way we see life and our thoughts regarding our reasons for living. As a physician, I spend most of my working hours with people going through vulnerable moments of their lives and take pride in the fact that I've built up a skill set to guide them through it all. I poured, intentionally and unintentionally a lot of my experiences with people into this story and want it to serve as both an entertaining jolly (or not so jolly) ol' story and a tale filled with impactful moments that make you want to sit down and quietly think about your own life.I have no doubt that you will find a character you'll vibe with - it's not only the MC that's fleshed out, but a bunch of side characters as well, diligently crafted to hit even the most unique situations people can go through during their lives. From meekness to poverty to regret to unachievable expectations to accidentally getting your own parents in prison for crimes that they didn't commit - there will be too many surprises to count, I promise. That being said, ArchSpire will now and forever be a story of victory and overcoming - because those are simply the stories I like...
