Ethan Pewter was just your average guy. Well, not quite — they had managed to climb up the ladder of society with skill, trust, and a little bit of luck. Although, that luck didn’t feel so “little” anymore when some gods offered to recruit them after they died. However, Ethan knew a scam when they saw one. The gods weren’t too happy about Ethan declining, so they forcibly reincarnated their soul into Levin Honident, a child inhabiting a world that is destined for destruction. Levin suspects that there is more to the gods’ scheme than meets the eye, but they have plenty of other things to worry about already, like how to escape the damn prison they reincarnated into. Will Levin manage to rise once again in this new magical world full of mysteries, or will its hidden dangers consume them first? Meanwhile, the gods have their own problems, with an abyssal looming threat and many latent dangers. Split between three factions with conflicting interests, the gods are untrusting — but now they may have no choice but to band together. Schedule: 1 chapter is released every Monday. It may be slow, but it is consistent. Word count: Early chapters have 600-1100 words each, but at chapter 18 it picks up to 1100-2100 words. Obligatory “what to expect:” • A unique magic system that hides many secrets• Hidden mysteries and dangers creeping in every corner• A three-dimensional main character with a past that is gradually revealed• Slow burn progression• Complex villains that have real motives• A bit of vengeance… and perhaps a tiny bit of forgiveness

Both levers trail the field
Traffic and conversion are both below comparable stories. Cadence is the first lever — stories posting near-daily reached 25 followers 17% of the time; stories posting every few days almost never did. Get the flow going, then re-check conversion.
Benchmarks: 8,060 active Royal Road stories, percentiles within the 20–49 chapters band, cohort of 2026-07-02. Conversion is measured as followers gained per 1,000 views lifetime.
