Arthur is a ranch hand on the planet Lagus. After a life-threatening experience, he finds himself conscripted into a galactic war. When the superhuman becomes expected, can Arthur meet the new standard of excellence? This story is set in the world of The Allbright System but should be able to stand on its own without need to read the source material. Readers of both stories may thus find some exposition repetitious. While effort has been taken to make this story consistent with the source material, many details are extrapolated and may not reflect canon.
