The Core has reached Earth. With that, Earth has changed. The power of the core has infused the Earth with Mana. As the world shifts with this influx of mana, the inhabitants evolve with it. As the animals and plants mutate, so does humanity. Humanity needs to evolve quickly or die. But the Core also brings opportunity; it gives individuals the power to fight back. Humanity has the opportunity to grow and learn magic. Valerian, a law student at the University of Washington, is one such person who has to deal with the new, evolved world.
