Ragnarok, the end of the gods of old, had done more than humanity could have ever made myth about. The death of countless immortals sent tremendous, corruptive, blessed magic throughout the world of the gods. Hope, mysterious and yet eager to help, casts her net out searching for one that can in fact do just that. Kai Marks, young and bookish... and bruised from a life time of woes, prays to the world for all he lack, mostly hope. Hope for a better life, a better world, an actual chance at peace and a reason to actually exist, a purpose beyond the pain of his short life. Answering Pandora's prayers in more ways that anyone could now, and so Hope summons him in return. Trained for seven years under the powerful Immortal Sentinel of Hope, the young man vows to use his rising potential to serve the world in Hope's name. Only problem? Humans and Gods alike are beings of patterns, and balance of another type has indeed manifested... creating a world of heroes and monsters, labeled by modern terms as Heroes and Villains. Where does he rank in this new reality of modern magic... or will he fade away, not important enough to have a say at all?
