A deliberate experiment rips twelve modern strangers four thousand years into the past — into an ancient Egypt that is still young, brutal, and quietly wrong. At the heart of the Nile lies the Lattice: a failing planetary machine that is slowly rewriting memory, time, and reality itself. Some of them want to repair it. Others want to burn it. As golden and violet threads pull them apart, they begin to shape the world around them — whether they mean to or not. History will not remember them as they were. It will remember them as gods. ---- "This story is AI-Assisted. I spent months building the world, characters, plot, mysteries, and emotional arcs myself. I used AI tools as a writing partner to help expand scenes, refine prose, and edit — but every major creative decision, character development, and storyline direction is mine. Think of it as me directing a very capable co-writer. I hope you enjoy the story!"
