The Woodcutter From Another World

When Jeremiah found himself reborn in another world with another chance at life, he seized that chance, gathering to himself a great band of soldiers, marching to carve out a place in history. He failed. Forty years have passed since then, and he has retreated from the affairs of the world, living as a woodcutter in a small village, teaching generation after generation of children about the seasons and the sun. One among those children, a girl named Yana, has an intelligence so clear, so bright, that she easily absorbs all that he can teach of science and of philosophy. And far worthier, far rarer than that intelligence is her empathy and her love for all about her. But when war comes to their village, it destroys all about it utterly. She decides then that she will put an end to all war, with all her strength of arm and heart and brain. Jeremiah, who knows that it might be done, hesitantly agrees to help Yana.
