Emerald Fate is a coming of age story filled with pining romance, soft epic fantasy, and found family. Loosely inspired by Alice in Wonderland and Little Red Riding Hood, it is a light(ish)-hearted Romantasy for readers who want a little fantasy with their slow-burn romance. Nina Akron, your average twenty-three-year-old LA girlie, wakes on a frosty ground surrounded by a forest of dead trees. This is wrong. This is all wrong. Nina has been slowly working her way through an associates degree at a local community college in Los Angeles while she waits for her life to begin. Patrick Connor, her childhood best friend and sexy BU graduate, is finally single and conveniently back in LA for a summer internship. After a night out in Little Tokyo with Patrick, things take an unexpected turn when Nina wakes up to find herself sprawled on the ground of a foreign land with Patrick nowhere to be found. Saved and sheltered by three laundresses who live and work in the treacherous Castle Breydoch, Nina quickly learns who to trust and how to survive in this new world. She is determined to find a way back to Los Angeles, but a seductively dangerous prince, and a visit from her past complicate her quest to return home. As she navigates the world of Glymeria, Nina will discover the power of female friendships, the cost of true love, and what it means to live every day to the fullest.
