Battles of Purity

In a nation where purity is a mortal crime for anyone who does not swear loyalty to the army, Roka is condemned to serve obligatorily to seek answers and reunite with those he loves. The army does not forge warriors: it shatters them, measures them in their agony, and chooses who is worthy of the forbidden power. As the secret of his own purity digs into his skin like a living wound, Roka must decide whether to use that fire to fulfill his purpose... or whether it consumes him until the end.
