Adventures Under the Sunless Skies

When Jack’s girlfriend fell from the Sky City, his only thought was to dive after her. Jack Wright is an adventurer in his mid 20’s. Orphaned at a young age, he found a second family with his girlfriend Stephanie and friends Bill and Claudia—his adventuring party. He lived in one of the great flying cities: Dorana, but on the first day of the fertility festival, his entire world came crashing down in a very literal sense. Now, he’s stranded on the surface in a city called Fortenna, sister to the city of Dorana of the Skies. The city-state is ruled by one Principessa Ippolita d’Areia, and she is one the Council of Principesse, the governing body of the surface. Her city is filled with scheming vampire nobles, and merchant and warrior social classes populated by dhampirs and werepeople—not to mention an unsettling disparity in gender populations. A new city brings new problems, and Jack will have to navigate the social strata with its nobles jockeying for power over each other, improve his personal strength, and maybe with a little luck, find a new home. However, the dangers of his new life aren’t only the people inside the walls, as feral Vampires and Weres travel the wilds outside the gates, and a would-be Necromancer Queen gathers her undead hordes nearby.  This story has very light western cultivation elements and a soft-ish magic system that will be explored as Jack himself expands his own understanding. The setting may remind some readers of Renaissance Italy (likely because of my clumsy usage of the language), but there will be some anachronisms to the time period.  Release Schedule: Mondays and Fridays 12pm EST  Chapter Length: 2.5k words on average.
