Alex didn’t know he was special until fur started pushing through his skin. Stuck in a small Pacific Northwest town full of hunters, his only ally is his brother Jayce. When a friend vanishes, suspicion falls on the town’s main employer. As Alex and Jayce hunt for their friend, the town hunts for The Beast. What to expect: Character-first, slow-burn mystery and adventure. Earned character growth. Genuine relationships. Novel format, first-person, single POV. Shapeshifters. Brothers being brothers. No explicit content. [Winner of the Spring 2026 Royal Road Writathon]
