The world ended once. It happened slowly—then all at once.
The sky turned the color of rotting fruit. The oceans grew warm and angry. Cities became tombs, then rubble, then memory.
And in the end, when humanity had nothing left to lose, they sent their best and brightest into the void—searching for a new home among the stars.
They found one.
But the world they found was already dying.
Meet Kael Ashford.
He died on Earth at eighteen years old—terminal illness, hospital bed, his mother's tearful face. He had nothing. No future. No hope. Just pain.
Then he woke up in hell.
The sky burned. The land was scarred. Monsters roamed what remained of civilization. And Kael? He had nothing. No weapons. No skills. No way home.
Just an impossible second chance.
She found him half-dead in an alley.
Seraphine Vane. Bounty hunter. Lone wolf. The kind of woman who killed first and asked questions never.
She should have left him to die.
But something in his eyes made her look twice.
"You're not from here," she said. "Your accent. Your mannerisms. You're from somewhere else."
She was right.
Now Kael must learn to survive in a world where humanity is an endangered species—and the only thing standing between extinction and survival is a broken party of outcasts, a power he doesn't understand, and a truth that could destroy him:
The last hero tried to save this world five hundred years ago.
He failed.
And now the brother he left behind is finishing what he started.
If Kael takes the hero's power, he can save this world.
But taking it will destroy it.
There's another way.
He just has to find it before it's too late.
