Of Metas & Monsters

After the incident, as it is ominously known, the world went dark. The majority of the populace was eradicated from the planet, and those that remained were left altered forever. Most of the survivors were zombified, mentally cooked from the inside out, and left to do nothing but join the masses of the Horde. For the fractional others, they were gifted from the incident with immense powers and extraordinary capabilities beyond what most would consider natural—telekinetic convulsions; enhanced strength, speed, and durability; or the capacity to teleport one’s bodies to anywhere they imagine, to name a few. As tensions rose, two main factions emerged from the darkness of what had happened—the Scavengers, led by Rex Gibson, a group seeking nothing but to restore humanity to some form of civility; and the Survivors, headed by the notorious Vex Krueger, their only goal was to do whatever they could to prevent things from going back to the way they were. As these two rival factions clashed at almost an even stalemate, one newcomer, by the name of Zane Callway, seemed to be capable of shifting the tide. Whether his extraordinary and quite uncontrollable powers will help Rex and his scavengers or hurt them is still up for debate.
