The Mid-Game Boss Saves the Plot!

Her fate was supposed to be one of the few calamities that had the potential to end the world, she prevented it but that was just the start of her story. Rontress Owelline was reborn as someone who she knows will become a monster one day, that was her destiny. Or it was supposed to be, but she overcame her fate and managed to stave off the worst possible outcome for her: she became a Dryad, a powerful mage, befriended the game's main villainess and end game boss, and somehow got her family a noble position in between. But that was not the end, no, it was just the start of her story and after going through literal hell just to stop herself from destroying her new home, she now has come close to the main plot of the game. Soon, monsters will repopulate the world, wars will plague kingdoms, and giant rat men will invade the surface carrying diseases, technology, and a rabid hunger for ending all life. However, not all hope is lost as light will shine in the darkness and a pair of heroes will emerge to save the world from devastation. Will Rontress let her life depend on something like that though? Nope. No. Of course not. Nada. Just because these same heroes canonically saved the world in the game doesn't mean the same will happen here. No, she will aid in keeping the world safe. And this time, the enemies of humanity, who had once relied on the power of the Mid-Game Boss to advance and push the species on the brink of extinction, will be on the receiving end of her weapon.
