The Third Death Of Aelius The First

The Third Death Of Aelius The First

by CrashingOcean

ActionAdventureFantasyKingdom BuildingMagic

He mastered the sword in his first life. He reshaped magic in his second. In his third, he rose from slavery to stand beneath imperial banners as a warrior of few equals. Each time, he reached the peak. Each time, he was erased. Not defeated. Erased. When betrayal took his head in a provincial forum, Aelius did not beg. In his final moments, he understood the truth that had followed him across lifetimes. Strength was not enough. Skill was not enough. Knowledge was not enough. Without control, even legends are expendable. Then something answered him. He awakens fifteen years old again, back in chains, back inside the Empire, back at the beginning of his third life. But this time he remembers everything. The sword master’s instinct. The sage’s spellcraft. The slave warrior’s battlefield precision. Lightning still answers his mana. And this time, he refuses to become another man’s weapon. Instead of chasing glory or military rank, Aelius chooses the worst possible path. Industrial labor. Dust-choked corridors. Endless machinery. Grey provinces where men are processed like ore and discarded just as easily. Because buried inside the Empire’s largest production system lies the key to fast freedom and the first piece of a power this era has long forgotten. He will rebuild deliberately. He will train without pause. He will gather those the world overlooks, hidden prodigies, rare constitutions, future legends still in chains, and forge them into something greater than an army. He will not react to fate again. He will engineer it. And when he finally returns to the Empire that executed him, it will not be as a soldier. Not as a sage. Not as a loyal blade beneath another banner. It will be as something the Empire cannot classify. Power is the only law that endures. This time, Aelius intends to stand above it.
