The days stretched long, and time moved forward as it always did, never pausing for a single soul. Perhaps somewhere within that relentless current, their hands might find each other again - meeting, holding, once more. But time did not stand on their side. Nor did fate. Not even their own hearts and minds somehow. And still, was loving each other not meant to be simple, as unthinking as breathing? He was forced to remain where he stood. She was required to go where she must. And between them, the years kept gathering. ✦⸻⸻✦ English is not my first language, so, sorry in advance if there's any mistakes ;-;
