In 1990, Earth was invaded by a godlike horror, a colossal space centipede that took ten years and the combined strength of humanity to destroy. When its corpse fell, its blood rained across the world and fused with mankind. From that day forward, humanity was no longer human. Heart Cores awakened, fragments of power embedded in the soul. Some had average powers, Some unique, Some burned with the Sun. Some pulsed with the Moon. Some carried draconic blood. A rare few held multiple cores and became walking catastrophes. Others had no core at all and some of those made darker bargains to change that. By 2000, unity had rotted into division. Death Wish. Every ten years, 100 champions enter a battle royale to decide the “Greatest House." The last survivor is granted one wish by a mysterious being, any wish deemed possible. For a thousand years, Death Wish shaped the balance of power. Alliances rose and shattered. Bloodlines flourished and were erased. Wishes reshaped history in ways no one fully remembers. Now it is 3010. The united council city stands at the center of the world, governed by the six ruling houses. Fragile allies bound by tradition and threat. Another Death Wish approaches.
