An orphan raised on doctrine instead of family, she has always known that something about her home is wrong, even if the shape of the wrongness has never come clear. Then a stranger washes up on her shore, and the lies that have held the island sealed for generations begin to crack. What follows is a journey across realms and broken kingdoms, through histories the world was never supposed to remember and powers it was never meant to keep. At the center of it all are the Soules: orbs that grant a wielder the strength of spirits, of gods, of demons.
