Max's simple life goes up in flames when a mysterious woman shows up on his farm, deadly assassins in tow. Forced to flee into the wilderness Max realizes he has to leave his old life behind if he wants to survive. He is immediately put up against deadly bounty hunters, contract killers, vampires and more. Surely this would be the quick end to Max the farmer; until he discovers a bizarre fact about his own nature he had never known... he is a magical null. Having no aura to track, no soul for magic to bind to Max finds himself immune to the great powers of these lands. He ignores the strength of the undead, the magics of spellcasters, and even finds himself shutting down powerful runes. Fueled by the determination to get his simple life back and his newfound confidence, Max must make uneasy alliances, battle the undead, and discover what his enemies are truly up to.
