A slow-burn, world building narrative with lots of small mysteries and character development. Jaraida: A planet where gifts of psi are the norm, has suffered greatly since a mysterious explosion destroyed their capital city and killed much of their leadership. Other disasters have destabilized the environment and the economy. Kronval, a neighboring planet, is trying to establish a “protectorate” on the grounds that Jaraida is in anarchy. Jaraidans regard the Kron as invaders. Davnan and Merleth: Members of the PanWorld Alliance Support Service (PASS) are on Jaraida as part of the PASS mission to investigate and offer humanitarian help. A major focus of their investigation is trying to locate Gin’va, Merleth’s former schoolmate who is the only Jaraidan to have graduated from the PanWorld Academy. Set against a world in crisis, this is a story about people, relationships, and survival. It has elements of romance as well as betrayal—on both the personal and political level. In addition to Davnan and Merleth, the main characters include a Jaraidan teenager, a mysterious woman, a healer, crippled when no one could set his bones, and a young leader, who is trying to balance internal politics with the threat from Kronval. *****New Content Mondays and Thursdays*****
