A Pokemon's Eulogy

Hello there! Welcome to the fantastic world of Pokemon! This world is inhabited by creatures we came to known and call as Pokemon. For some people, Pokemon are loyal pets. Others use them as guardians, workers, helpers... and many many more uses. The sky is quite literally the limit. The most common use for them, however, is for battle and for research. To refine both the battle and research the multiple goverments bodies across the world have refined a true and tested method. A route as one would call, a route that follows usually between eight to twelve cities, a short route that was designed to test those that would command pokemons into battle. We call those people 'Trainers'. They will fight against the 'wild' pokemon between each city that they find on the 'route'. They will fight other 'Trainers' and test their mettle against the 'Gyms'. This is a safe and tested route, there the 'wild' pokemon will not attack 'trainers' unless it's during the day. And will always let them escape in case their pokemon are 'defeated'. We understand as a 'defeat' when the pokemon becomes unconscious. The same applies for 'wild pokemon' of course, once they become 'defeated' a trainer may try to 'capture' them. That is how the world works. And all the young trainers that depart on these routes are taught these rules and one more important rule. Never, ever... leave the route and explore the wilds.  For there are darker things inside the wilds. ---------------------------------- Got bored, decided to write a pokemon fanfic.
