Dragon Tamer's Throne

The story centers on Jessica, a Dragon-Whisperer of the Free-Wing Clan who lives in partnership with wild dragons in the Azure Peaks, in constant ideological opposition to the Dragon-Tamer Court. Their fragile peace is shattered when Roric, a fellow clansman, brings news of a rogue, ancient Shadow-wing dragon that has gone on a rampage, destroying multiple human villages. The Dragon-Tamer Throne, led by Prince James, seizes this tragedy as a pretense to blame the Free-Wing Clan, issuing a decree to invade their lands and cage all wild dragons. While Jessica initially dismisses unsettling rumors—that the dragon's destruction was precise, the land withered, and its roar sounded like a "cry of terrible, profound pain"—she is swayed by Elder Maeve. Maeve believes the dragon is not a monster on a wild rampage, but a victim of an "unnatural madness" caused by a dark force, possibly originating from the forbidden Whisperwind Ruins. Jessica realizes that proving the dragon's suffering is unnatural, and finding the source of the corruption before Prince James's legions arrive, is her people's only chance to avert a full-scale war and subjugation. With Roric reluctantly by her side, Jessica sets out on a desperate, dangerous quest to track the rogue dragon and find the truth in the cursed ruins. Her journey leads her to a direct confrontation where she, Roric, and surprisingly, Prince James, are caught in a deadly battle against the corrupted dragon, which is being controlled by a powerful mage using dark "Shadow Binding" magic.
