Born in a simple village along the coast, Sam has always wanted to study magic. But without the money to travel to High Thael to study, his prospects are as poor as he is. That is, of course, until he receives an unusual result in his Assessment right before his 18th birthday, and garners the attention of a master mage! With an unusual trait that makes him valuable and his insatiable curiosity driving him forward, what heights can Sam reach as a mage? This story will be cross-posted to Scribblehub and r/HFY.
