In the aftermath of snowfall in Chang’an, Su Lixin returns alone to her family’s abandoned residence, carrying a piece of deep-blue jade that Xie Wuchen had split open for her at the jade market. There, she discovers a mysterious jade pendant that has appeared without explanation. The pendant bears blood-infused inscriptions and emanates an uncanny warmth, suggesting that it is no ordinary artifact. Xie Wuchen soon arrives at the old residence under the pretense of delivering warm congee, but reveals that he has deciphered a hidden message on a jade token connected to two unresolved cases from three years earlier: the theft at the Xie family’s Jade Pavilion and the false charges that destroyed the Su household. He explains that both incidents were part of a single conspiracy involving a stolen ancient relic known as the “Liuli Blood Jade Soul,” and that an insider was responsible. Although Xie Wuchen senses the blood-infused aura of the jade pendant Su Lixin is hiding, she refuses to entrust it to him, heeding her late father’s warning to flee if anyone seeks her with such a jade. That night, the pendant begins to whisper with vengeful voices, confirming its sinister nature. From afar, Xie Wuchen realizes that the aura of the pendant matches that of the cursed relic stolen years ago—a jade rumored to commune with spirits and claim lives—signaling that Su Lixin has unknowingly become entangled in a deadly conspiracy that is only just beginning.
